That's a good question...

FAQ

How does your coffee compare in price to others?

The average bag of premium specialty coffee is going to cost around $17-22 for a 12oz bag. Most of that price is going to need to cover the cost of overhead. On the other hand, cheap coffee is cheap for a reason. The bean quality is very poor and when the coffee was roasted is unknown.

At Garden City our business is small. We do not have the overhead of larger specialty coffee companies. Therefore we are able to keep our prices low ($13-14 a bag) while freshly roasting fantastic single origin coffee sourced from all over the world.

Why should we buy your coffee and not grocery store coffee?

There's still good in this world worth fighting for. Every bag you buy from us helps support impoverished and orphan children in Southeast Asia and church planting efforts around the world (see our "Charities" page). We also want to win you over to great tasting freshly roasted coffee.  Important information is missing from major coffee retailers, 1) the origin of the coffee and 2) the roast date. Do you know when your coffee was roasted? Do you know where it comes from? Bean quality matters.

At Garden City we are passionate about drinking and serving great coffee. You'll find the roast dates and origins of the coffee on our bags. We trust you'll love the difference.

why the name "garden city" ?

Why Garden City? The Garden City teaches us of the bible's picture of where the world is heading. Jesus is bringing humanity back to the garden which was lost through Adam's sin. Christ has opened the way back in through his substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, and ascension. But this is a better garden, a glorified garden, a garden city. Those united to Christ by faith enjoy the pleasures of the garden city where life abounds, rest and healing is brought to the nations, the earth is renewed, and the Lord is there to dwell with his people to comfort them and wipe all tears away.
